The 2004 Grand Prix of Bahrain marked the first ever round of the FIA Formula One World Championship to be held in the Middle East and the official culmination of a multi-million dollar project started back in September 2002 when the Kingdom of Bahrain signed a long-term deal to host the event.
14 years later, Scuderia Ferrari has become the most successful team, with five victories ahead of the race on Sunday and the Maranello team will now try to repeat the splendid result from last season, which would definitely represent a strong statement for the 2018 Formula 1 title hopes. However, it will not be an easy task for the Italian side, as Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes will look to get back on track under the floodlights in the desert after Sebastian Vettel snatched victory and the early lead of the world championship on the opening round of the season.
