The Hungaroring track is known for its hot and dusty conditions; in fact only three times in its 31-year run have the clouds opened up during the race – the first time during its 21st running in 2006 and rain will most likely stay away from the circuit this year as well.
Since its opening the track has hosted some of the finest auto racing the planet has to offer, including the F1 series; the Le Mans series; the European Touring Car Championships; the Ferrari Racing Days; the Sidecar World Championship; the Truck Championship, the Motor World Cup; and many other rallies, races and events featuring cars, trucks, motorbikes and nearly anything else that can be raced.
With the Hungarian Grand Prix contract extended at least until 2021, racing fans can expect more of the same for the near future, including on Sunday, as Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel looks to put an end to Mercedes’ recent winning streak and fight to keep the lead in the Formula 1 Driver Standings, as his main title rival, Lewis Hamilton, has managed to to close the gap to just one point at the end of the 2017 British Grand Prix.
Follow us in the afternoon for the latest updates and results from the Hungaroring track as the 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix is about to get underway in Mogyorod, nead Budapest, with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen ready to challenge Mercedes and Red Bull Racing for the win.
