It was a difficult morning for Scuderia Ferrari in Barcelona, as Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari SF1000 slowed to a halt on track after suffering a power loss on day three of 2020 pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
It was the first mechanical failure of 2020 testing. Sebastian Vettel’s SF1000 started to lose power and came grounding to a halt just after Turn 10.
We have had confirmation from Scuderia Ferrari that Sebastian Vettel will return to the track in the afternoon session with a new engine: “It was an engine problem, with the cause to be investigated back at Maranello. A new engine will now be fitted, keeping Vettel off track for the remainder of the morning.” – the Maranello team confirmed on Twitter.
