Mattia Binotto on Ferrari’s progress for next season. Ferrari's chief technical officer is confident the team can do a good job.

Mattia Binotto, Ferrari’s new chief technical officer, has recently explained that the Italian team must not only capitalize and improve on last year’s development schedule before the major regulations changes which will be introduced in 2017, but most importantly create a car that can adapt to the future updates in a much more efficient manner, in order to further improve during the season. Mattia Binotto replaced James Allison as Scuderia Ferrari’s head of technical department midway through 2016, after a dissapointing year for the Maranello side, who were not able to fight with Mercedes and even saw themselves out-developed by Red Bull racing in the second part of the 2016 Formula 1 Championship:

“Next season there will be so many changes regarding the rules relating to the aerodynamics aspect and as a result we will have totally different cars which will prove to be a lot faster then prevoius seasons, much more quicker through the corners, under acceleration and in braking,” Binotto added, as reported by the Italian local press -. “I am sure that we will be up for this important challenge and we will be able to give Sebastian and Kimi a car worthy of their talent. We have two world champions in our team and I am confident that we will be back on top, it is just a matter of time and hard work.” – Scuderia Ferrari‘s chief technical officer said.

“There is a lot of quality in our team and a lot of talented people who are working hard. I am confident that we have got all of what we need to do a good job for 2017 and be ready to fight for winning the title. Ferrari is a great team, with important resources, a number of very highly talented people and now we just have to keep working hard and make the most out of the time we have before the start of the season.” – Mattia Binotto concluded.

We never come out good when there are so drastic rule changes. Hope this guy can do better but not so confident.

It’s about time we get things right and come back string. Binotto knows his stuff but the problem is the way things get done in our team. Like the data from the wind tunnel, we never get that right.
