Alfa Romeo Racing Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen interview for kids magazine Apu Juniori: “I was a little wild at school but at least I didn’t fight a lot.” Thursday’s pea soup and pancake was Formula 1 driver Kimi Räikkönen’s favourite at school.
What was the best thing about school?
Kimi: “Sports and some pals.”
What was your favorite subject?
“Sports and crafts.”
Which teacher has remained in your mind and why?
“No one has particularly remained in my mind.”
What happened at school that you didn’t tell at home?
“There were probably a lot of things missing but at least I didn’t fight a lot.”
What did you do during breaks?
“The best part was the break itself. They always went so fast that we had no time to do anything.”
On a scale of 1-5, how annoying were you at school?
“I don’t know if I was annoying. I was a little wild, so maybe 2 or 3.”
Which food did you like the most?
“In general, the school didn’t have terribly good food at the time. The situation has certainly improved. On Thursdays there was pea soup and pancakes. Maybe it was the best day.”
Tell us your best school memory
“Probably the best were the friends I got. School feels more comfortable afterwards than when you are there.”
What was the most important thing you learned at school?
“To count and read. It would certainly have been worth trying to learn more.”
What profession did you dream of as a child?
“I don’t remember but since I was karting at the time, I think the dream was somehow related to driving and cars.”
What would you like to say to yourself in primary school now?
“In general I could tell everyone to be brave and kind.”
