Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto revealed his delight with the Italian side’s qualifying in Singapore as they took P1 and P3 for Sunday’s race at the Marina Bay circuit.
Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc took his fifth pole of the season and his third in succession, but mistakes on the final lap meant Sebastian Vettel was unable to improve on a solid first lap and he was relegated to third by Lewis Hamilton.
Mattia Binotto told Sky Sports: “It’s even better than we hoped.
“We brought a new aero package and it’s good to see that it works, but the race is tomorrow and we shouldn’t forget that but it’s always nice to start at the front in Singapore. I still believe the arrows [Mercedes] are very strong.” – Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto said at the end of the qualifying session for the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix.
