The Styrian Grand Prix will take place on the same track as the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend. The Red Bull Ring is situated in the heart of Austria, outside the town of Spielberg in the state of Styria (or “Steiermark” in German).
The track has staged motorsport for more than 50 years and has a capacity of around 40,000. However, no spectators will be admitted to either the first or second race of the 2020 F1 campaign due to coronavirus restrictions.
There won’t be much change in terms of race times, teams and drivers. Indeed, even the Pirelli tyre compounds will be the same from the Austrian Grand Prix. All eyes will be on this race to see how drivers fare seven days after running on the same track in the Austrian Grand Prix.
To what extent we see major strategy changes from the first race into the second remains to be seen. But for many teams the Styrian Grand Prix could be where they perfect their plans and we might see some more competitive driving.
Join us for the latest updates and results from the Red Bull Ring, as the 2020 Styrian Grand Prix is about to get underway, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc at the wheel of the SF1000, ready to score as many points as possible in the second race of the 2020 Formula 1 season.
