Arthur Leclerc, the brother of Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, has recently been given an opportunity to test for the Venturi Formula E team at the Rookie Test, which followed last weekend’s Marrakesh ePrix. The brother of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, Arthur has already sampled a Gen2 car – brought in for the start of this season – in a private test in Spain, but now had another chance to impress at an official Formula E test session.
The 18-year-old joined Venturi as part of their driver academy last March, which is aimed at preparing drivers specifically for electric motorsport. Asked about Charles’ influence in his own racing career, Arthur Leclerc said: “In general Charles always tells me to stay focused on myself, on what I do without thinking about the lap times. And to do what the team asks me to do. He is always present, he helps me, but he also wants me to grow with my own strength.” – the 18-year-old explained.
Regarding Charles Leclerc and his prospects ahead of the first Formula One season with Scuderia Ferrari, Arthur added: “I believe in Charles and his abilities. I am convinced that he will take full advantage of this opportunity and with Ferrari he will fight at his best from the very start. His mental strength impresses me. When he puts his helmet on, he becomes another Charles, always very concentrated and unshakeable.” – Arthur concluded, as reported by the German media earlier this week.
