After his victory at the Russian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton is now 50 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel. There are five races left in the 2018 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton finished first at the Sochi Autodrom ahead of his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas while Ferrari ace Sebastian Vettel was third. The win in Russia moves Hamilton to 306 points in the drivers’ standings with Sebastian Vettel on 256. There are 125 points left to play for.
In the constructors’ standings Mercedes are on 495 points, 53 ahead of Ferrari who are on 442. Red Bull are third with 292 points.
The Japanese Grand Prix is therefore Ferrari’s last chance to take the title fight until the very end, but the Maranello team will be desperately in need of a victory at the Suzuka circuit, which would mentain a slim hope of a spectacular comeback in the final four races of the season.
