No time for rest in Formula One. Just a few days after the Austrian Grand Prix, the super-fast Silverstone circuit should provide one of the most thrilling settings for this year’s new breed of Formula One cars. After a controversial trip to Azerbaijan and a somewhat dull affair in Austria the fast, sweeping, circuit of Silverstone promises close and competitive racing up and down the grid. With multiple overtaking points and a track that can wear on tyres and drivers alike.
Silverstone’s long lap and high tyre wear can be a problem for teams. It also has one of the highest full-throttle rates on the calendar, making it a thirsty circuit, so the practice sessions will have a significant importance in identifying the ideal setup.
Follow us for the latest updates and results from the Silverstone Circuit as the first practice session ahead of the 2017 British Grand Prix is about to get underway, with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen at the wheel of the SF70H.
